Monaco Grand Prix: Monaco’s most awaited event of the year
There is no doubt about it – the Monaco Grand Prix is one of the most iconic sporting events of the year and undoubtedly one of the main events for the Principality. The Monaco GP 2023 will take place on May 28 on the Circuit de Monaco, and no other race offers attendees the opportunity to witness history being made on a temporary street circuit.
Nelson Piquet, a former F1 driver, joked and compared Monaco’s course to “riding a bicycle around your living room” because of its incredibly narrow streets. The Monaco GP offers superb “edge-of-your-seat” entertainment for spectators as vehicles race to overtake each other with millimeters to spare, making it one of the most difficult F1 circuits for drivers.
With only 40,000 grandstand seats available, the Monaco Grand Prix 2023 has one of the lowest capacities and is one of the highest-demand races.
Monaco Grand Prix – What you should know
Making Monaco race ready takes 250 workers six weeks to construct before race weekend and three weeks to dismantle afterward. Apart from the Monaco GP 2023, which serves as the main sporting event of the season, Monaco also hosts the Historic Grand Prix biannually, usually two weeks before the Monaco Formula One race, and the Monaco ePrix.
The Historic Grand Prix
The Historic Grand Prix gives motorsport fans the opportunity to see the cars that have made the Monegasque street circuit legendary.
In the Monaco Historic Grand Prix, vintage vehicles compete against one another on the Monegasque circuit while making a series of tight turns on a narrow track, revving their engines to full capacity. Two hundred and forty vintage race cars (F1, F2, and other competitive single-seaters) from every continent are lined up by age group, from pre-war to more modern eras.

Monaco E-Prix
Since May 2015, the Monaco circuit has offered the ePrix in odd years in addition to the Formula 1 Grand Prix every year and the Historic Grand Prix in even years.
The Formula E championship is an automobile competition organized by the FIA, featuring only 100% electric race cars. The first E Grand Prix took place in Beijing in September 2014.
Where to watch the Monaco Grand Prix 2023 in style
Those lucky enough to live on the temporary race track get to watch this iconic race from the comfort of their own balconies. But there is hope for F1 fans. Monaco, on its own, is a luxury hub, but none more so than when it comes to the Grand Prix. Here are some of the most luxurious places to watch the Monaco GP 2023.
The Fairmont Balcony
The Fairmont Balcony viewing balcony is located at the iconic Fairmont Hairpin bend. This is one of the best viewing points to watch the cars negotiate this legendary bend and one of the most famous corners of the F1 season. This corner is particularly technical for drivers and allows for some of the most exciting parts of the race.
Watch as the cars race down the hill from Mirabeau Corner and tackle the hairpin before accelerating away toward Portier Corner. Each suite has been carefully picked to ensure that guests get the best views of the race. A buffet lunch and a selection of carefully curated wines, beers, Champagne, and spirits are served all day. The Fairmont balcony is ideal for guests as part of a group or those who prefer privacy.

Luxury yachts
What better way to experience the Monaco GP 2023 weekend than from a luxury yacht? Spacious decks are ideal for watching the race and soaking up the atmosphere of the most amazing F1 event on the calendar. Chartering a superyacht for the Monaco Grand Prix gives you exclusive access to a yacht for just your family and friends. Watching the race from a yacht provides six-star service from the crew, accommodation, and the opportunity to cruise along the French Riviera before and after the race.
Paddock Club
The Formula 1 Paddock Club, which offers spectacular trackside views, fine dining, and open bars, is the pinnacle of Formula 1 hospitality. At every circuit on the F1 calendar, watch some of the most momentous on-track action from your premium viewing spot. Visitors have the opportunity to get close and personal with the F1 drivers, team members, and celebrities at this venue. Gourmet food, an open bar, world-class entertainment, and exclusive access are all included.
