While the Principality of Monaco is one of the smallest countries in the world, second only to the Vatican, the city-state boasts distinct districts, each with its own unique atmosphere and community.  Each Monaco area features a range of amenities and attractions, with some appealing more to families seeking a relaxed vibe, while others will suit professionals wishing to have the very best attractions on their doorstep. Whichever Monaco area you choose to call home, you’ll enjoy all the benefits of living in the principality.

Monte-Carlo Monaco

Monte-Carlo is, without question, Monaco’s most iconic district, home to the principality’s most refined and luxurious attractions. It is also where you’ll find some of the most exclusive Monaco real estate, facing the district’s famed Casino Square or Carre d’Or. The Casino Square is home to the Monte-Carlo Casino and the Café de Paris, and it’s also where you’ll find the Metropole Shopping Centre, home to the principality’s best designer boutiques and luxury shops. Much of the F1 Grand Prix also takes place on the streets of Monte-Carlo, and it is also in this Monaco district where you’ll find the most extravagant parties. For those wishing to reside in the heart of the principality, nothing can match living in this Monaco area

Port Hercules Monaco

The Monaco area of Port Hercules falls under the district of La Condamine, but its size and amenities often make it feel like its own distinct area. Port Hercules is the principality’s only deep-water port, and it sits at the foot of Le Rocher, a promontory that juts into the Mediterranean Sea and is home to the Prince’s Palace. The port is home to the world’s finest superyachts and hosts the annual Monaco Yacht Show. Wrapping around the harbour are a selection of refined bars, restaurants, and service providers. It is here that you’ll also find the Monaco Yacht Club, which plays a dynamic role in life in Monaco, as well as the Rainier III Stadium, with its expansive, Olympic-sized heated seawater swimming pool. It is home to the most expensive Monaco real estate along the famed Princess Grace Avenue. Larvotto is especially popular with families and individuals seeking proximity to all the offerings of Monte-Carlo but desiring a quieter pace of life. Larvotto is famed for its beautiful man-made beach, which is lapped by the Mediterranean Sea. The beach area recently underwent redevelopment and now features an elegant promenade lined with boutiques and restaurants. Most of the beach is public; however, in the dedicated private areas, you can hire loungers and parasols. A lifeguard is also on duty during the summer, providing parents with peace of mind.
